As Moslems mark Eid el Kabir, Gov Dickson calls for continued prayers for the Unity, Peace and Stability of Nigeria

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson has called on Muslim faithfuls to use the period of Eid el Kabir to pray for the unity, peace and stability of the Country.

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson has called on Muslim faithfuls to use the period of Eid el Kabir to pray for the unity, peace and stability of the Country.

He has also enjoined them to propagate the message of love, which remains the overriding principle and direction for the adherents of every religion, including Moslems.

In his message to Moslems on the occasion of Eid el Kabir, Governor Dickson urged them to pray to Almighty ALLAH to direct the leadership of the country aright at all times, especially in this period of economic hardship.

According to him, the nation needs the collective prayers and unity of purpose of all to not only forge ahead, but continue to occupy its enviable position as the giant of Africa in all its ramifications.

The Bayelsa State chief executive also renewed his call for collaborative efforts in the ongoing fight against terrorism, stressing that, the Nation’s military needs the prayers and support of all Nigerians to finally win the war against insurgency.

Describing Islam as a religion of peace, he enjoined the practitioners to follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammed, (SAW) that centres on tolerance, peace and brotherliness.

“Irrespective of our religions and tribes, what should be uppermost in our minds is the unity of Nigeria, since we don’t have any other country to call our own.

The Governor however, expressed to gratitude to Moslems in the State for their ever supportive and peaceful disposition, calling on them to maintain the existing relationship between the Moslems and practitioners of other religions.
