Presenting the income and expenditure profile of the state for the months of May and June, 2017 at a transparency media briefing in Government House, Yenagoa, Rear Admiral John Jonah explained that, the gross inflow from the federation account for June stood at 10.1 billion.

He said the components of the gross inflow comprises, derivation N4.7 billion, statutory allocation of N1.7 billion, budget support N1 billion, exchange differential N1 billion, stabilization fund N93.5 million, Value Added Tax N720.1 million and refund from other states was N57.5 million.

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson will be proceeding on vacation from Monday, 24th of July, 2017.

The Governor is expected to use the period of his vacation to rest, after a busy schedule of duties both within and outside the State, especially his role as Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP Reconciliation Committee, among others.

Gov. Dickson's educational revolution excites Gowon, commissions Ijaw National Academy

Gowon stated this at the commissioning ceremony of the Ijaw National Academy at Kaiama, during which Governor Dickson presented a cheque of N97 million to the State Education Development Trust Fund Board.

He described the facilities at the Academy as impressive, adding that the vision behind the setting up of the free boarding secondary school is commendable as it is designed to achieve academic excellence and capacity building.

Bayelsa govt releases fund for completion of on going developmental projects .....approves N2 billion for SUBEB,  MDG

Most of the projects are at the advance stage and in order to meet the deadline for the completion,  the Executive Council in its 77th meeting approved substantial amount to speed up the projects.

Also,  in its efforts to boost infrastructure in the primary education sector at the grassroots level and empowerment of the youths,  the government has approved N2billion for SUBEB and MDGs.

This is in line with the Restoration government policy of improving the standard of education and empowering the teeming youths in the state.

A university don, Prof. Kimse Okoko has commended Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State for his active role in pushing the course of the Ijaw Nation forward, describing him as a true patriot.

The erudite professor of Political Science made the commendation while interacting with newsmen shortly after the inauguration of members of the ‎Ijaw National Reconciliation committee.

Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Henry Seriake Dickson, on Friday in Yenagoa assembled leaders of thought in the Ijaw nation to request their assistance and support to help in resolving the issues affecting the Ijaw ethnic nationality, especially the Ijaw National Congress (INC).

The governor, while inaugurating a 20 member Ijaw National Reconciliation Committee (INRC), said "all is not well" as the conflicts and disagreements arising from individual interests has led to ‎the polarization of the Ijaw Nation.
