The Bayelsa State Government has declared a balance of N2.8 billion as at the end of July 2015.

Governor Seriake Dickson, who made the declaration at the monthly transparency media briefing for the month of July, 2015 expressed concern that, revenue from the federation account has dropped drastically from N18 billion in 2012 to about N9 billion.

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson on Thursday called on Nigerians to collaborate with the Federal Government in building national consensus to fight against issues of terrorism, hunger, ethnicity and injustice to bring about the much needed change.

Governor Dickson, who made the call in Yenagoa, while declaring open the 11th All Nigerian Editors Conference, pointed out that, the restoration administration had for long been implementing institutional changes in line with democratic principles.

Barely 5 months to the Bayelsa State Governorship polls, Governor Seriake Dickson has expressed strong convictions that, he would be re-elected, as he has an edge over his opponents running on a record of concrete achievements, rather than promises.    

Governor Dickson, who made the assertion in a special interview with newsmen in Government House, Yenagoa, the state capital, stressed that, the restoration support base was far more robust now than it was in 2012.

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon Seriake Dickson on Friday charged the newly appointed Head of Service of the State, Dr Peter Singabele to further depoliticise and instill more discipline in the state civil service to achieve improved service delivery.

Speaking at the swearing in ceremony of the Head of Service and a member of the state Civil Service Commission, Dr Boumakuma Kpokiri in Yenagoa, Governor Dickson stressed the need for public servants to uphold the principles of neutrality and absolute loyalty to the government in power.

Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, yesterday, lambasted those who defected from the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last Saturday, saying they are greedy and selfish politicians.
Dickson, who spoke in Abuja on the sideline of the National Security Summit 2015 organized by the Nigeria Police Force, in conjunction with The Sun Publishing Limited, publishers of The Sun titles, said the defectors did so only for greed and selfish reasons.

The new Special Advisers are to be sworn-in, at a date to be announced later.
The State Governor has also approved the appointment of Victor Inodunimi Isaiah as the new Senior Special Assistant on Youth Development for Brass Local Government Area.
He takes over from Chief Kenneth Eke-Spiff, who has been redeployed to the office of the Secretary to the State Government.
The redeployment and new appointments are all with immediate effect.

He is Dr. Peter Fabuku Singabele, mni, who until his new appointment was the Permanent Secretary, General Services in the Governor’s office.
An alumnus of the University of Ibadan, Dr. Singabele is a career civil servant and a medical doctor by profession.

He is also a one time Board member of the Nigerian Football Federation and Chairman of the Bayelsa State Football Association. Dr. Singabele takes over from Dr. (Mrs.) Josephine Igodo, who is proceeding on retirement, after 35 years of meritorious service.
