A retired Colonel and member representing Sagbama Constituency 2 in Bayelsa State House of Assembly has commended the people of Toru-ebeni in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State for rejecting the APC and its Governorship Candidate in the December 5 polls, Chief Timipre Sylva.

The people conveyed their displeasure with the party on Thursday when Sylva went to Toru-ebeni to seek their support for his ambition to rule the state again.

More Communities and the people of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area have unanimously endorsed the re-election bid of the Bayelsa State governor, Mr. Henry Seriake Dickson, describing his visit as historic.

The governor during his three days community to community based campaign, visited Koluama one and two, Foropa, Gbaraun, Ukubie and Ogboinbiri.
Others are; Olugbobiri and Korokorosei, Igbomotoru, Peremabiri Azuzuama and Ekowe.

The group under the umbrella of Buhari Friends Network mobilized its members across the State to muster support for Governor Dickson, who is seeking re-election.

Led by its coordinator, Chris Otobo, to the Banquet Hall, venue of the epic event, the group disclosed that, of all the aspirants jostling for the number one seat in the State, the incumbent governor has the Best credentials.

On our own, we have done our independent survey and the outcome showed that, the candidacy of Hon. Dickson is widely accepted.

Governor Dickson made the call during a Peace Summit in Yenagoa jointly organised by INEC and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where almost all the candidates contesting the December 5 governorship poll in the State, including Chief Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC), signed an undertaking to keep the peace before, during and after the election.

“Regard Bayelsa as home”, he said.

He made the remarks, when the non-indigenes comprising of the South-South, Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa communities, residing in the state came together to endorse him for a second term.

The event, which took place at the Peace Park in Yenagoa, the state capital, had in attendance about three thousand men and women, who unanimously gave their support to the re-election of the governor.

They were received into the party by the state Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson at the Banquet Hall of Government House over the weekend.

Dickson told the youths that the future of the state and the Ijaw nation lied with them, as he challenged them to come to stand firm and defend their votes.
He said that, anyone who loved the Ijaw nation would not have anything to do with the APC and congratulated them for dumping it for the PDP.

Dickson storms Sylva's country home, pledges award of Nembe/Brass road contract

The award of the contract as assured by the governor is in addition to the on-going Ogbia/Nembe Road project and other developmental projects sited in the area.

The Governor who was received by the Okpoama Council of Chiefs commended the people of the area for their support and the large turnout, adding that this is a testimony to the fact that the people of Brass local government area are in support of the PDP led administration.

Reiterating that every November 2nd has been set aside for Bayelsans within and outside the state to honour and thank God for His blessings, the Governor noted that, the event was in accordance with the Bayelsa State Thanksgiving Day Law enacted in 2012.

He described the thanksgiving day celebration as significant as it was taking place at a time when the state was preparing for the December 5th Governorship poll and enjoined the people to key into the event by praying for Bayelsa as well as ask for forgiveness and blessings upon their lives.

Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Seriake Dickson over the weekend charged youths of the state to see themselves as ambassadors of restoration by ensuring that Bayelsa do not fall into wrong hands.

Hon. Dickson, who gave the charge during the commissioning of a restoration campaign secretariat at Erepa road, Yenizue-gene in the state capital, built by the Niger Delta Peoples Forum for Dickson 2016, called on the youths to take the message of restoration to every electoral unit of the state.
