Governor Dickson has summoned a commission of enquiry over the atrocities perpetrated by state officials, whether federal or state, to answer to the crimes against the people of Bayelsa state.

Major Sanni, who is the officer in charge of the illegal operation in Southern Ijaw, said he was acting on strict instruction from the Minister of Defense, Mallam Dan Ali, who incidentally was the same person who conducted the primaries that made Timipre Sylva to emerge as APC candidate after the botched primaries earlier conducted by Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomole.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said the newly commissioned Toru-Ebeni bridge will help in opening up the hinterland in Bayelsa State as well as boost commercial activities in the area.

Jonathan, who made this remark during the commissioning of the bridge, recalled that the late Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, a former governor of the state, conceived the idea of the project, but he started the construction, which the present administration completed.
