The Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson on Wednesday, said the annual Ojude Oba festival of the Ijebu people in Ogun State has further confirmed Nigeria's cultural and ethnic diversity as a strength and not a weakness.

He made the submission during the 2016 Ojude Oba festival with the theme: ‘Ojude Oba, our culture, our pride’, when he led the Bayelsa State delegation.

Governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson has directed the due process office to ensure the payment of 50 per cent to all pensioners in the state, along with salaries of civil servants for the month of August.
He also directed that a list of all the pensioners be published every month as well be sent to the finance committee and other relevant agencies fort action.

Governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson, on Wednesday inaugurated a 16 member special committee on the Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, chaired by Prof. Stephen Odiowei, with a mandate to develop a blue-print for the sustainable development of the institution.

Other members of the committee include; the Chairman of the State House of Assembly committee on education, Hon. Gentle Emelah, Professor Ebi Awotua-Efebo, Professor Francis Sikoki, Senator John Brambaifa, Mr. Austin Adigio, Timipre Seipulo and Mrs. Josephine Ezonbordor-Torru.

The Bayelsa State government on Wednesday distanced itself from the ordeals of a civil servant, currently serving with the Bayelsa State Ministry of Justice, Jonah Okah, who is facing trial at magistrate court 7 in Yenagoa, over criminal defamation of Mr. Ritchie Etonye, the Government House accountant.

While advising him to face trial, the government insisted that he inflicted his present ordeals on himself.
