Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson has commended the Federal Government for the establishment of the 6th Division of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt, Rivers State covering four states in the Niger Delta to enhance security.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson on Tuesday, said the governor gave the commendation, when the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) the Division, Major General Enobong Udoh and other senior military officers paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Yenagoa.

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson on Monday vowed to bequeath a public service that is depolicized, efficient and committed to the highest ethical standards before the end of his administration.

Governor Dickson made the assertion shortly after the swearing-in ceremony of the new Acting Head of Service at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Yenagoa.

Governor Dickson stated this during his visit to the Gloryland Children's Home in Yenagoa, as part of activities to commemorate his 51st birthday celebration.

Describing the visit as solemn, the Governor enjoined people ocuppying positions of authority to see it as an opportunity to advance the cause of mankind.

He urged the people, particularly parents and care givers to inculcate the right values and attitudes to children, stressing that, education without the right morals would endanger society.
