Gov Dickson in shock and regret, as former PDP scribe dies

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon Henry Seriake Dickson has expressed his regret and shock over the death of the Chairman of the Aleibiri Elders’ Forum, Chief Dennis Daunimigha, who passed four days ago.

In a condolence message to the immediate family of the deceased, Alei in Council and the people of Aleibiri Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the State, Governor Dickson described Chief Daunimigha, as a patriotic Ijaw man, who committed a greater part of his life to the service of the Ijaw Nation and humanity in general.

According to the Bayelsa State Governor, as the Regional Manager of the Bank of Agriculture at some point, he served with utmost commitment and a great sense of duty, with an outstanding record of performance.

He recalled with pride, Chief Daunimigha’s stint as the State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stressing that, his diligence and focus also contributed to the enviable position of the party in the State, while as the Chairman of the Aleibiri Elders’ Forum, his love and sense of duty has repositioned the forum for greater service delivery to the people of the federated Aleibiri communities.

Governor Dickson used the opportunity to commend his undying efforts at moving the State to greater heights, pointing out that, as an active member of the Bayelsa Elders’ Forum, he was always on hand to offer wise counsel to the government.

He remarked that, though the death of Chief Dennis Daunimigha was a painful one, we must as a people take solace in the fact that, he lived a worthy life, which he committed to the service of his people.

He prayed God to grant his immediate family and the entire Chiefs and people of Aleibiri the fortitude to bear the loss.
He also prayed God to grant his departed soul eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord.

Chief Daunimigha died about four days ago, at the age of 74.
